This is the line we see in the case of many Telugu heroes, and even in Bollywood heroes. Currently, with Karan Johar and Siddharth Malhotra teaming up, they are saying how come KJo will believe in this hero who hasn’t scored a hit in the last 10 years. That’s the case with many Telugu heroes who haven’t scored any blockbusters in the decade, though some of their films are good.

Many young heroes, who were young then but are touching almost 40 now, belong to this category. Many insiders say that, rather than betting on some newcomers, as such films work only once in five years, betting on these known heroes with flops is better, because they could rake up some moolah from the box office. Now that OTTs are not paying better money anyway, surely these types of ‘no hits for 10 years’ will continue to get ‘many offers’. Because a known face would have more pull at the box office any given day, if the content is better.

However, when the film industry and major producers are depending only on these out-of-the-run heroes, there’s no scope for inventing freshness as the majority of them want to do only routine movies to get commercial success. That’s the reason why we are witnessing those heroes who scored big hits in the 2000s are unable to do anything now, but still doing movies.
