Can All 5 Movies Get Enough Theatres This Week?

The Telugu film industry is once again heading towards a busy weekend. Five films are preparing to reach theatres within just two days. With limited screens and several movies competing for audience attention, it will be interesting to see how the theatres are divided among these releases.

The first film to arrive is Maremaa, which is scheduled to release on September 10. The movie marks Maadhav Bhupathiraju’s debut as a lead actor. Deepa Balu and Vikas Vasishta are also part of the cast. Directed by Manchala Nagaraj, the film is said to be an action drama with a rural folklore backdrop. Paid premieres are planned a day earlier.

Another major release is Sardar 2, starring Karthi. The film is directed by PS Mithran and continues the spy-action story of the first part. Malavika Mohanan, SJ Suryah, Ashika Ranganath and Yogi Babu are among the important actors in the movie. Sardar 2 is also releasing on September 10.

Mandaadi, starring Soori, is the third film entering theatres on the same day. The Tamil movie has a story connected to the sea and traditional boat racing. Telugu actor Suhas is making his Tamil debut with this film. Mahima Nambiar is the female lead.

On September 11, EPIC, featuring Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, will hit the screens. The film is directed by Aditya Haasan, who earlier made 90s – A Middle Class Biopic. It is a romantic drama that deals with love, family and the experiences of a young man. Paid premieres are expected on September 10.

The other Telugu release is Mahendragiri Varahi, starring Sumanth. Directed by Santhossh Jagarlapudi, this spiritual mystery thriller features Aishwarya Rajesh, Malavika Nair, Meenakshi Goswami, Vennela Kishore and Brahmanandam.

With five movies arriving almost together, the biggest question is about theatre availability. Distributors and exhibitors have to carefully divide screens based on demand. Strong advance bookings, audience interest and reviews could decide which films get more shows.
