This week, several new lyrical songs dropped from upcoming Telugu and Tamil films, but the buzz didn’t land the way makers probably hoped. Fans expected some strong musical waves before the festive season, but instead, most tracks arrived, and quietly faded out. Only a couple of big-star songs managed to stay in the spotlight, while the rest barely made a ripple.

Roshan’s Champion, releasing on December 25th, actually started on a decent note with its first song “Gira Gira Gingiranive.” The visuals were colourful, the vibe was youthful, and Ram Miriyala’s voice brought a nice flow. Roshan and Anaswara’s chemistry also clicked well. But the moment other Telugu releases started dropping their songs, this track too slipped out of conversation faster than expected. The film still has buzz, but the single didn’t create the long-lasting impact the team hoped for.

Meanwhile, Sreeleela’s Tamil debut, Parasakthi, the upcoming movie songs “Ratnamala” and “Adi Alaye,” both fell completely flat. Fans who were excited to see Sreeleela step into Tamil cinema were left confused by the dull compositions and plain audio.

The same story repeated with Andhra King Taluka. While “Nuvvunte Chaley" and “Chinni Gundelo” went viral with huge numbers, the new tracks like “First Day First Show” and “Muddu Gumma” didn’t connect at all.

Keerthy Suresh’s Revolver Rita also tried to heat things up with “Danger Mamae,” but the song barely made it to anyone’s playlist.

Roshan Kanakala’s Mougli, set to release on December 12th, had dropped “Sayyare” and “Vanavaasam” a month ago. Even with the early push, both songs struggled to get traction and quickly disappeared from timelines.

It feels like audiences are simply not in the mood for average tunes right now, especially with so many releases coming back-to-back. Interestingly, while these five new songs are struggling, two big upcoming releases are comfortably ruling Spotify, Ram Charan’s “Chikiri Chikiri” and Mahesh Babu’s “Sanchari.” And honestly, that says everything about where the crowd’s ears are right now.
