Telugu YouTuber Loses 3 Lakh Followers In A Day

Popular Telugu YouTuber Anvesh, who runs the YouTube travel vlogging channel “Na Anveshana” landed in deep trouble after his recent controversial comments. While criticizing Shivaji for making comments that heroines should appear at public events in sarees in order to get safe, Anvesh made some atrocious comments.

Initially, Anvesh made a video where he passed not only derogatory remarks while targeting Shivaji, as well as spiritual speaker Garikapati Narasimha Rao, but also spoke of mythological Hindu characters like Draupadi and others in a disrespectful manner. Later, he made an apology video, where he defended himself that calling the Mahabharata’s Draupadi Vastrapaharana incident a rape scene is not a big thing.

While complaints are being lodged reportedly on Anvesh in different regions, the social media backlash is so strong that he lost close to 3 lakhs subscribers on YouTube as well as Instagram, in record time. Accusing him of hurting religious sentiments and promoting disrespectful content, many social media users are trending hashtags like #BanNaaAnveshana and more.

Surely, content creators should play out responsibly, and accountability is the main criterion, like it is in the case of actor Shivaji. Making a mockery of mythology and hurting religious sentiments is not acceptable in the name of constructive criticism, and the YouTuber should realise the same.
