Telugu Film Chamber Distances From Nandi Awards!

The Nandi Awards were started with the noble intention of recognizing talent in various crafts. The trend of giving the Nandi Awards started back in 1964. A committee picks the finalists and grants them the Nandi awards. There are four categories in the awards namely-Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Copper.

However, the Nandi Awards have been attracting some or the other controversy after the state bifurcation. Joining the list, another controversy hit the Nandi Awards. It is known that the Nandi Awards ceremony was announced in September this year in Dubai.

Ahead of this, the Telugu Film Chamber Of Commerce issued a statement saying that it is nowhere connected to the award ceremony and it is a private ceremony. Having distanced from this, the Telugu Film Chamber Of Commerce said that the Telangana Film Chamber Of Commerce is not recognized by the Telangana government.

Terming the awards ceremony as a private ceremony held by P. Ramakrishna Goud, the Chairman Of Telangana Film Chamber Of Commerce, the body took severe objection to the usage of Nandi awards as it is the patent of the combined state.

In a press release, the Chamber said that the Andhra Pradesh Ministry of Cinematography and Telangana Film Development Corporation have no idea about the TFCC Awards.

“Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce is the parent body of the Telugu Film Industry, and we are informing once again that the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce are the only bodies recognized by the Telugu State Governments,” the Film Chamber said.
