Most of the small producers struggle to get enough theatres when big films arrive. But popular producer TG Vishwa Prasad has a different answer to this question. He believes that the film business depends on market conditions and audience interest.
People Media Factory produced Garividi Lakshmi under the leadership of TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad. Anandhi plays the lead role in the film. The film has Rag Mayur, Vijay Krishna Naresh, Raashi, Ankit Koyya, Avasarala Srinivas, Sharanya Pradeep, LB Sriram in key roles. Gowri Naidu Jammu directed the film and is going to release on October 17.
During a media interaction for Garividi Lakshmi, TG Vishwa Prasad shared his views on releasing small films alongside big movies. The discussion focused on theatre availability and the chances of small films when major releases compete for audience attention.
When someone asked whether small films would get enough theatres during a week with big releases like Ranabaali and Jailer. Vishwa Prasad gave a clear answer.
He said that the issue was not about fairness or unfairness. He explained that the film business worked according to commercial needs.
He added that big films usually attract large openings because of their star power and promotions. Small films may receive fewer openings in comparison. But he believes that a good film can attract audiences over time and enjoy a longer theatrical run.
The producer also explained why the team chose to hold early premieres for Garividi Lakshmi. The team had discussed the release timing for two to three months. They wanted to release the film during the festive season. But the delay of another film changed their plans.
The team decided to release Garividi Lakshmi on October 17. The makers had limited time for promotions. They said that they used early premieres to show their confidence in the film.
