Thandel’s Box Office Storm: Naga Chaitanya’s Fastest 50 Cr Grosser!

Naga Chaitanya's latest film Thandel, is making waves at the box office with record-breaking collections. Released on February 7, 2025, the movie has garnered significant attention.

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Bunny Vasu under Geetha Arts, Thandel features Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in lead roles. The film is inspired by a true incident from 2018 where fishermen from Srikakulam accidentally drifted into Pakistani waters and were detained. Naga Chaitanya portrays Raju, a fisherman while Sai Pallavi plays his love interest Satya.

On its opening day, Thandel collected an impressive ₹21.27 crore globally. By the end of the second day, the total gross reached ₹41.27 crore. The film is on track to become Naga Chaitanya's fastest movie to surpass the ₹50 crore mark. Advance bookings for Day 3 indicate a continued strong performance especially across the Telugu-speaking states.

The film's success isn't limited to box office numbers. Prior to its release, Thandel secured its digital rights with Netflix for ₹40 crore marking the biggest digital deal for a Naga Chaitanya film to date.
