While some viewers have raised questions about the film’s story and treatment, the movie is showing strong numbers at the box office. This has now created an interesting question: What is driving The Paradise collections?
Is it Nani’s popularity? Is it the content of the film? Or has the controversy around the movie created extra attention?
The film, directed by Srikanth Odela, features Nani and Kayadu Lohar in the lead roles. Mohan Babu, Priyadarshi and other actors play important characters. The story is set around a community called the Savari and their long struggle for identity and recognition. Nani plays Jadal, a character who fights for his community.
The movie initially received a mixed response. Social media also saw several negative posts and trolling. However, the box-office performance has remained strong. According to reported figures, The Paradise collected around Rs 24 crore gross worldwide on its third day. Its reported worldwide gross after three days reached around Rs 119.50 crore, including about Rs 90.50 crore from India and Rs 29 crore from overseas markets.
The movie also became a major topic on social media because of its Telangana slang, local setting and political discussions surrounding some aspects of the film. KTR’s theatre visit and the discussions that followed added further attention to the movie. The Telangana-Andhra regional debate also became a talking point online.
Such discussions can increase curiosity among audiences, especially when a film is already receiving heavy social media attention. At the same time, strong opening numbers can also be linked to Nani’s fan base and the expectations created before the release.
The reported budget of the movie, including promotions, is around Rs 150 crore. The film is said to have already recovered a significant part of its target through its early theatrical run and non-theatrical deals.
Even on Sunday, the film bagged house collections and Monday is also expected to bring more audience. Whether the movie’s collections are mainly driven by its content, Nani’s craze, controversy, or regional buzz will become clearer after its long theatrical run.
