Nani is one of the most successful and respected actors in Telugu cinema. Over the years, he has built a strong image with his choice of films and performances. While Nani enjoys a strong fan base in Telugu states, his reach in other languages is still developing.

His latest film The Paradise was expected to help him expand his market across India. However, the film’s performance outside the Telugu states has reportedly been disappointing. The movie was released simultaneously in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The makers also worked with established distributors to give the film a wider release.

During the promotional campaign, Nani clearly stated that The Paradise was primarily a Telugu film and was not planned as a traditional pan-India project. At the same time, the team made efforts to release the movie in several languages. The film was dubbed carefully and released across different markets.

The Paradise opened amid huge expectations. However, the early response from paid premieres reportedly affected the film’s performance in several centres. The negative talk spread quickly on social media and had an impact on audience interest in some of the non-Telugu markets.

In the Hindi market, the film reportedly opened on a weak note. The response in Tamil and Malayalam markets was also not strong. This shows the difficulty Nani still faces when trying to attract a large audience in other language markets.

The situation has been somewhat different in the Telugu states. The film has shown better performance in Telangana, while the response in Andhra Pradesh has been comparatively weaker. The overseas market has also reportedly seen a drop after the initial opening.

The Paradise is directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music, while Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead.
