If there is one film that grabbed the attention of the public with its unique promotions, it is 'The Birthday Boy'. The movie mostly has upcoming artists playing lead roles and a director named Whiskey made it. The trailer is quite impressive and the movie is out in theatres now. Let us find out what the public thinks about the movie.

It is the story of Balu (Mani), Venkat (Raja Ashok), Arjun (Venky), Sai (Arun) and Satti (Rahul). These five youngsters study in the USA and they decide to have a party on Balu's birthday. The celebrations go wild as they stuff the cake onto his face, pour alcohol on him, and hit him with eggs and tomatoes as well. While giving birthday bumps, the friends lose control and he falls on the glass table. Balu dies instantly and everyone is shell-shocked. They don't know what to do and ask Arjun's brother Bharat (Ravi Krishna) for his help. It leads to a lot of chaos and drama filled with a lot of twists.

Making a film where everything happens in one house is quite a tough task. But the director manages to do it quite successfully for a large extent. The drama and tension were kept intact during the first half. The makers should be appreciated for selecting such a unique theme and the public are impressed by it. The conversations are quite natural between the friends and the realistic tension on their faces has been captured well.

The public says that the movie manages to make you feel that you are in the house with them and it is mainly because of the cinematography and acting. The screenplay should be quite tight in order to sustain the audience's interest and the makers did that in the first half. The problem lies in the second half where the movie turns into an investigation and the flashback episodes become a drag. The public felt that the pace of the film becomes too slow and the predictable flashback is the biggest drawback. Despite that, the climax twist is executed well and gets approval from the audience. The public feels satisfied after watching this film. The technical department involving music and editing brings the required intensity for this subject.

Ravi Krishna played an emotional and serious role. He is the right fit and does quite well and all the other actors did their part with sincerity. Noted actor like Rajeev Kanakala showed his experience and brought the required emotion. It is not a film that you can enjoy for time pass but it is worth watching if you are interested in thriller dramas.
