Malayalam film "The Goat Life" (Aadu Jeevitham), starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Amala Paul, had a contrasting performance across regional markets. Released on March 28th, the film received critical acclaim and box office success in its home state of Kerala, becoming the first Malayalam film to surpass ₹ 64 crores in worldwide collections. Praise centered on the film's production value and Prithviraj's captivating performance. However, Telugu audiences weren't as receptive.

"The Goat Life," a survival thriller based on a true story and adapted from the novel of the same name, resonated deeply with Malayalam viewers. But the Telugu market remained unmoved. This lukewarm reception can be attributed to several factors. Firstly, the film faced stiff competition from the Telugu blockbuster "Tillu Square," which garnered positive word-of-mouth and dominated the box office. Secondly, the survival thriller genre might not have held the same appeal for Telugu audiences as it did for Malayalam viewers.

Despite its struggles in Telugu states, "The Goat Life" fared better in Tamil Nadu. With a ₹ 1 crore gross opening, it marked the highest opening weekend for a Malayalam film in the region. The film has collected ₹ 5 crores gross so far and is expected to reach ₹ 10 crores by the end of its run. Prithviraj, who gained pan-India recognition after his role in "Salaar," unfortunately couldn't translate that popularity to the Telugu box office in this instance.
