What Does The Quarterly Report Of 2024 Say?

We are done with the first three months of 2024 and it has neither been a bad nor a good year for Tollywood. The Sankranti season was filled with big films but it is an unexpected film like 'Hanu-Man' that proved to be a winner. Films like 'Guntur Karam', 'Saindhav' and 'Naa Saami Ranga' couldn't totally satisfy the fans. Prasanth Varma and Teja Sajja achieved the impossible and minted over 300 crores worldwide.

Despite the bad talk initially, it is Mahesh's superstardom that dragged 'Guntur Karam' to the shores of safety. Though it faced minor losses in some areas. 'Saindhav' from Venkatesh completely disappointed the audience while 'Naa Saami Ranga' featuring Nagarjuna, Naresh and Raj Tarun ended up with decent profits due to the controlled budget.

After Sankranti, we witnessed a lot of small films in theatres. Sadly, none of them managed to become successful at the box office. Politically loaded films like 'Yatra 2' and 'Vyuham' did not achieve commercial success. Ravi Teja's 'Eagle' too did not live up to its hype. Suhas scored a decent hit with 'Ambajipeta Marriage Band' and Sundeep Kishan too got his much-awaited success with 'Ooru Peru Bhairavakona'.

Ravi Teja's production 'Sundaram Master' starring Viva Harsha and Vennela Kishore's 'Chari 111' too failed to impress the viewers. Varun Tej faced one more disaster in the form of 'Operation Valentine'. Gopichand's 'Bhimaa' managed to get decent openings but the talk was quite poor which led to a lukewarm run at the box office. 'Gaami' was praised a lot and did well at the box office as well. After a dull few weeks, March ended on a high with hilarious entertainers like 'Om Bheem Bush' and 'Tillu Sqaure'. Sree Vishnu's film did well and made people laugh despite having a lot of flaws while 'Tillu Square' is going strong in theatres with a hit talk. It is going to end in good profits as per reports.

Coming to dubbed films, it was 'Premalu' released by SS Karthikeya which did quite well. Let us wait and see how the rest of 2024 goes.
