Guess what, these Tier 2 heroes, whose films haven’t even collected a ₹100 crore gross from the box office, are now demanding this budget for their movies. Here’s the curious case of these Tier-2 heroes, who might shift to doing small films or stop doing films, if the trend continues.
There are hardly 4-5 Tier II heroes in Tollywood, and surprisingly, most of them are demanding that their producers invest ₹90-100 crores in their movies. Whenever producers question this, they are talking about content, creativity, and how the producers have invested money on some other heroes’ movies. The reality is that most of these heroes don’t even saw ₹100 crores share in their career. Because that’s what it takes to recover the investment. As OTT’s might pay around 20-40 crores based on the output, surely the other part of the investment component is at risk.
Guess what, a couple of heroes in this category haven’t even crossed the ₹50 crores share mark in their careers. All those ₹100 crores gross poster we have seen about this heroes are just fakes created by the producers to impress their OTT boses. With most of these heroes’ next films touching 100 crores budget, the distribution and production circles are quite shocked by this.
