Every Friday, it is becoming quite a doom for the Telugu film industry at the box office. Especially with holidays in full force and more audiences available to watch movies, it’s sad that Tollywood is not churning out good movies for them. While biggies have postponed their releases and escaped the Summer heat, there are small-budget movies that are struggling to get attention now.

Tomorrow (May 8th), three films are hitting the cinemas, and none of them actually got any proper buzz. Lavanya Tripathi’s Sati Leelavathi, Ravibabu’s Razor, and young hero Sumanth Prabhas’ Godari Gattupaina are in the pipeline for a release, while a couple of them are having premiere shows on Thursday night. Though Lavanya tried her best to get attention for her movie, all the buzz revolved around her, but the film didn’t get enough of it. Only if good word of mouth comes out, the film might get umpteen attention.

Coming to Ravibabu’s Razor, the film’s over-violent trailer hasn’t impressed that section of the audience who actually love this creative filmmaker’s movies big time. All that fake-CGI-blood splashes and unwanted brutal action is actually shocking folks, and we have to see if Ravibabu’s aggressive interview-based promotions actually worked or not, by looking at the movie’s footfalls on the opening day.

Sumanth Prabhas’ Godari Gattupaina is one film that is being promoted quite aggressively among these three movies. However, the fate of this movie depends on word of mouth only, because none of the songs actually clicked, and without a chartbuster song, it's tough for small-budget films to grab audience attention.

That’s how Tollywood slipped into a lack of buzz mode now, that too in a hot Summer season. In fact, rather than blaming IPL, we have to say that, as films are not connecting, more Telugu audiences are addicted to IPL matches big time for entertainment.
