Telugu NRI Girl Asked For Commitment: Who’s Producer?
Realising the nature of the request, she said she immediately cut off contact and chose not to pursue the meeting.
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 April 2026 12:35 AM ISTFor many years now, there has been a lot of discussion happening about the casting coach culture in the Indian film industry and particularly in the Telugu film industry as well.
A Telugu origin social media influencer based in New York has alleged that she was approached with an inappropriate proposal while trying to explore opportunities in the Telugu film industry.
In a video shared online, she explained that she had sent her portfolio to an assistant director and was later contacted with an invitation to travel to India to meet a well known Telugu producer at a private resort.
According to her account, the meeting was presented as a professional opportunity but gradually took a different tone. She claims the producer expected a “commitment” that implied a personal favour in exchange for career prospects.
Realising the nature of the request, she said she immediately cut off contact and chose not to pursue the meeting.
The video has triggered widespread discussion on social media about the persistence of casting couch practices in Tollywood. Actor and anchor Jhansi, who is associated with the Tollywood Women’s Support and Sexual Harassment Redressal Panel, publicly responded by urging the woman to file an official complaint so that the matter can be examined through proper channels.
No producer has been named so far, and the claims remain allegations shared through social media. Any formal action will depend on whether a complaint is filed and investigated by the concerned panel.
