Telugu film Kishkindhapuri, starring Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, is taking a bold step by going for paid premieres despite clashing with Teja Sajja’s much-hyped Mirai.
While Mirai currently enjoys stronger buzz among audiences, the Kishkindhapuri team hopes that early shows will help generate word-of-mouth publicity before the full release. This strategy has worked in the past, with films like Little Hearts benefiting from paid premieres.
The film belongs to the horror genre, which usually has a loyal audience base in Telugu cinema. If the content connects with viewers, positive reactions from these premieres can create momentum, especially on social media. However, there are also risks.
If the early response is mixed or negative, it could backfire and push audiences toward Mirai instead. Another challenge is that Bellamkonda’s previous outing Bhairavam did not perform well, and this may affect audience expectations going in.
Still, Kishkindhapuri’s trailer has managed to spark curiosity, and the horror factor could attract crowds. Ultimately, the success of this strategy will depend on whether the film delivers the thrills it promises. If it does, the premieres may give it a solid advantage, if not, the clash with Mirai could prove costly.
