Tollywood Heroes Keep Repeating Directors Behind Their Massive Hits
but most star heroes are quietly going back to the same directors who gave them their biggest hits.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 4 Dec 2025 3:50 PM ISTTollywood right now feels a bit amazing. Everyone is talking about big experiments, but most star heroes are quietly going back to the same directors who gave them their biggest hits. And honestly, who can blame them? After Waltair Veerayya turned into a massive money-maker for Megastar Chiranjeevi, he didn’t bother searching around. Bobby gave him a hit once, so he handed him the keys again, and Daku Maharaj also clicked. So yeah, Chiru is just continuing that lucky streak without overthinking it.
Balayya too seems to have taken a U-turn. For a while, he was giving newcomers a chance and still scoring solid hits, which was interesting to watch. But now his lineup looks more like a “repeat winners list”. Gopichand Malineni, who made Veerasimha Reddy, is back. The movie is tentatively titled NBK111, and they held the pooja in a grand ceremony.
Anil Ravipudi is also doing his own juggling act. After the whole F2, F3 run with Victory Venkatesh, he’s sneaking Venky into Mana Shankara Vara Prasad for a cameo and then planning another Sankranthi-style sequel. These combos keep coming back like festival specials.
Allu Arjun and Trivikram, that’s a whole tradition by itself. These two already gave films like Julayi, Son of Satyamurthy, and Ala Vaikunthapuramlo. So that pair sticking together again is not even news at this point.
And Ram Charan is finishing Peddi with Buchi Babu, but once that’s out of the way, he’s returning to Sukumar. Their Rangasthalam is still everyone’s go-to reference, so obviously, expectations are floating high again.
Even the younger heroes are doing the same thing. Nani, fresh off the Dasara success, is back with Srikanth Odela for The Paradise. Vijay Deverakonda also circled back to Rahul Sankrityan after Taxiwaala.
Basically, everyone is recycling their lucky teams. Maybe it’s comfort. Maybe it’s strategy. Maybe they just don’t want surprises right now. Tollywood seems to be saying, “If the combo works, don’t touch it.”
