Tollywood’s Next Move: Save The Shock Value

Unlike Rajamouli or Sukumar's movies, where the movie’s drama itself builds up to a peak, and then explodes during the interval and pre-climax episodes, these movies have banked on shock factor. But what if the shock is revealed well in advance?
Recently, when Dacoit is hitting cinemas, just before the release itself, the shock value of the film that the heroine sends the hero to jail over a rape case got leaked. Similarly, during the arrival of Ram Charan’s Peddi, the news that he will lose a leg while doing wrestling and become a Paralympic champion thereafter got leaked. Coming to Lenin, before the release itself, the primary twist that the hero accidentally slashes the throat of the heroine is out. With these major twists leaked, somewhere films are losing the excitement that usually should be around them.
Saving the shock value and twists is the major thing that Tollywood should do just in case they want to have the audience enjoy that x-factor in theatres. Somehow, these days leaks are happening, right from the writing team, the shooting spot, the editing studio and post-production technicians; these leaks are coming. So, filmmakers should make sure that such leaks won’t happen. If shock value is not saved, then Tollywood will be shocked with the result.
