This July has been a rather mixed one for Tollywood with Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Kingdom arriving in theatres. Now that both the films are done with the run and Kingdom is proving to be the bigger deal, the focus is now shifting to August.

August has arrived with high hopes for Telugu theatres, especially after a dull July. This month is packed with exciting film releases that could bring much-needed energy back to the box office.

The first week started with Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen’s Sir Madam, along with small films like Usure and Thank You Dear. Bollywood also joins the race with Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2, both riding on positive buzz.

On August 8, Bakasura Restaurant will hit theatres, and on August 9, fans are eagerly waiting for Athadu starring Mahesh Babu. This is a special film for Mahesh’s fans in the occasion of his birthday on August 9.

The real fireworks are expected on August 14 when two major films clash War 2 starring Jr. NTR and Hrithik Roshan, and Rajinikanth’s Coolie. Both are expected to draw huge crowds and possibly break records.

On August 22, romantic films like Parada and Meghalu Cheppina Prema Katha release, while Stalin is set for a grand re-release. Later, Mass Jathara starring Ravi Teja is expected on August 27, though the date isn’t confirmed.

Finally, August 29 brings three films Sundarakanda, Revolver Rita, and Param Sundari. With this lineup, theatres are hoping for a strong comeback and better collections throughout the month.
