Why Tollywood Going After Paid Tweets?
Every time, a new film releases, there is something extraordinary happening on social media as we see hundreds of tweets and Instagram post hyping up this film.
By: Tupaki Desk | 23 April 2026 12:45 PM ISTThe Telugu film industry has the habit of creating paid campaigns for films to generate artificial momentum, and this has been the case for many years now. This is becoming particularly relevant these days, as many films are resorting to the exact same strategy.
Every time, a new film releases, there is something extraordinary happening on social media as we see hundreds of tweets and Instagram post hyping up this film.
This has been the case with almost every single film, regardless of the stage and box office potential. Back in the day, only big Hero films with substantial promotional budgets, used to come out with this strategy of posting hype tweets on social media.
But that is not even remotely the case, now, as even small films are accumulating, adequate budgets to carry out such campaigns on social media, as it has become increasingly common to see hyped tweets on the day of release.
At the end of the day, the audience are much smarter than anyone else, and they can easily identify what is what. A film can have its lifetime run, only if the content is strong enough and the kind of presentation that is displayed in the film is appealing to the audience.
These paid positive posts might bring a small section of audience to the theatres, but even they will not return with good memories if the fellow is not good enough. So the most important thing here is spending this money for promotional budget, instead on the actual quality of the film, which will at least help gain a good impression.
This is a very serious learning curve for Tollywood, and it needs to be said that this is the order of the day as many films have been going for the same strategy in the attempt to trick the audience.
