Tollywood PRO League! Ready To Hit The Ball Out of Park!

The Telugu Film Industry aka Tollywood, is all set to add a sporty twist to its off-screen celebrations as they want to indulge in ‘cricketing’ once again. After we have seen the likes of CCL, where stars from across India joined teams and played T20 cricket, now Tollywood is entering its own league to make the best of everything.

Hitting the ball straight out of the park, the Tollywood Pro League (TPL), the ambitious sports-entertainment cricket league for the Telugu film fraternity, was launched the other day. India’s most iconic cricketing legends, including Kapil Dev, Virender Sehwag and Suresh Raina, graced the ceremony as chief guests, unveiling the league’s logo, jerseys and trophy.

Supported by veteran producer Dil Raju as the honorary chairman of the tournament, the Tollywood PRO League aims to celebrate the intersection of cinema and cricket, featuring industry professionals from all 24 crafts as players. Earlier, the likes of CCL mostly had only actors playing the cricket, but this time, people from other crafts, including directors, editors, fight masters and dance choreographers, will be taking the roles of ball-hitting batters and bowl-spinning bowlers.

Cutting more into the details, the league will have six franchise teams, planned fan engagement zones and celebrity team owners, whose details will be revealed shortly. Fans are already looking forward to seeing this unique cricketing spectacle take off.
