And to make sure that the film never flops, right now Tollywood is on ‘reshoot mania’.

A big film, which happens to be a pan-India movie featuring a natural hero, has almost 30% of the movie reshoot. Another mid-range film that was supposed to release in May itself and locked a July date, has given up a couple of songs as well and reshot them. Another big family star’s film is going through script changes and lots of reshoots, as the story is close to a blockbuster that was released recently. Another director who is making his second film with a Tier 2 hero is doing lots of reshoots. Almost 5-6 films are right now in reshoot mode, which is burning the pockets of the producers. Had these directors planned things carefully on paper, surely all this investment would have been a profit.

That said, even after multiple reshoots and release delays, these are the days where Telugu films are failing to click big time at the box office. In the name of bringing the best output, some directors are just tuning the output to their whims and fancies. One observation is that most directors these days are becoming ill-informed and half-knowledgeable when it comes to carving out films. So are the demands of some star heroes!
