By: Tupaki Desk | 6 Dec 2024 4:30 PM GMTTollywood has witnessed a fair few sequels in the recent past. The likes of Kalki, Salaar, Pushpa, Devara and others have confirmed subsequent outings from the first parts, and the mistakes are high on the sophomore outings from these franchises.
Incidentally, the most recent sequel in Tollywood is Pushpa 2. This film has opened on a blockbuster note at the box office and it is projected to set all time records in many crucial box office segments.
Coming to the topic now, let us have a brief discussion about the fourth coming set of sequels in Tollywood from the above mentioned films.
Now that Pushpa two has released already, the expectations are already soaring high on the third part, which is likely to commence production once Allu Arjun and Sukumar deem fit. Sukumar has cleverly, lead an open ending to the second part in order to facilitate the third part.
Now that the second part of Pushpa is projected to gross over thousand crore at the box office, the third part is more or less confirmed to happen, but at a later point in time.
We then have the second part of Kalki, which is also in early stages of production. After the surprisingly big success of the first part, the director of the film Nag Ashwin is said to be actively working on the second part.
However, there were complaints about the lack of sufficient story in the first part as the entire crux of the film was held back for the 10 minute climax version. This must surely be addressed with the second part.
Given the ensemble star cast that is associated with the world of Kalki, the second part is likely to have a bright run at the box office whenever it releases.
Coming to Devara, the first part was a substantial success, and it turned out to be a decent follow up film for Junior NTR after RRR. However, there are a set of complaints about the shortcomings on freshness and core story of the first part, which is raising doubts on the actual prospects of the second part.
As things stand, even fans are not too excited about Deva second instalment whenever it happens or if it happens in the first place. NTR is also currently occupied with Bollywood film War II, which will be followed by the film with Prashanth Neel, the chances of the second part of Devara happening in the near future are bleak.
Lastly, we have Salaar Which marks the coming together of Prabhas and Prashanth Neel. Though the first part was a substantial success at the box office, both Prabhas and Prashanth turned busy with other projects, respectively.
Considering the commitments of Prabhas and Prashanth, at this point in time, it might take a while for the second part to commence production.
While these are the logistical and production related updates and assessments of the hyped sequel from Tollywood, let us know in the comment box about which subsequent outing are you the most excited about.
