The holiday season has always been very important for movies. In Telugu cinema, festivals like Sankranthi and the summer season are considered the best time for big releases. Families go to theatres, students have holidays, and collections are usually high. This year, Sankranthi saw good activity with multiple films hitting the screens. However, the situation looks quite different for Summer 2026.

Many young Telugu actors had plans to release their films during this summer, but most of them could not meet their deadlines. One of the main reasons is the delay in shooting schedules. Big-budget films often take more time to complete, especially when they involve large sets, action scenes, or multiple locations.

Actors like Nani and Naga Chaitanya were working on their ambitious projects The Paradise and Vrushakarma. These films were initially planned for summer release, but due to production delays, they have now been postponed. Similarly, Varun Tej’s Korean Kanakaraju and Sai Dharam Tej’s Sambarala Yeti Gattu were also expected to arrive in summer, but they too got pushed to a later date.

Akhil’s film Lenin was earlier scheduled to release on May 1st, but now it has been shifted to June. Kiran Abbavaram’s Chennai Love Story and Dulquer Salmaan’s Aakasam Lo Oka Tara also faced delays and missed the summer window. Another film, Suriya’s Vishwanath And Sons, followed the same path and got postponed.

Even though many films have been delayed, summer will not be completely empty. Some actors are still planning to release their movies during this season. Names like Sharwanand, Adivi Sesh, Nikhil, Naga Shaurya, and Anand Deverakonda are expected to bring their films to theatres in the coming weeks.
