In the last few weeks, Tollywood saw a surge of teaser drops. With a dry run at the box office, these previews became the industry's way of firing back and grabbing attention.
Prabhas’ Raja Saab, a comedy-horror, lit up the charts with solid visuals and a long-awaited release. Fans gave it a warm welcome, helping it cross 14 million views within a day. Then came Akhanda 2, with Nandamuri Balakrishna roaring back in an action-packed sequel. Its teaser racked up 26 million views in a week, carrying forward the energy from its predecessor.
War 2, though highly anticipated due to the Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR combo, faced a lukewarm response in the South. Many viewers were not keen on seeing Jr. NTR in a negative role, even though the teaser pulled a staggering 40 million views. Mirai, starring Teja Sajja, brought something fresh with its mythology-meets-sci-fi narrative. With a warrior safeguarding nine divine scriptures, the teaser clocked nearly 10 million views. Meanwhile, Kuberaa, with Dhanush, Rashmika, and Nagarjuna, made a solid impression as a thriller.
Vishwambhara, Chiranjeevi’s big-budget fantasy, still haunts fans for the wrong reasons. Released months ago, it faced heavy trolling due to weak VFX, though it somehow crossed 30 million views. Now, all eyes are on the trailers of these films as that’s where first impressions will either gain ground or crumble.
