Two-Letter Titles, Short, Sweet & Blockbusters

Back in the day, when films that have “Raa” at the end clicked, there were movies like “Preminchukundaam Raa”, “Kalisundaam Raa” and a bunch of other films that clicked big time. Then came the trend of using English titles for films like Idiot, Super, Happy Days, Kick, King, Don, etc. Now comes another old trend of using titles that will just have two letters.

Already, Allu Arjun announced his upcoming film’s name as Raaka. Then comes Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka, and Balakrishna’s movie is likely to become Daada. Prabhas’s film is also named Fauzi only, while his other film is Kalki. If written in Telugu script, all these films will have just two words in the title font. Already, we have seen such two-letter word movies like #OG, Peddi, #DC in the recent past. Going with these two-letter titles, it looks like makers want to create a special impact without fail.

Among most of the films that got two-letter titles in the recent past, like Arya, Bunny, Bhadra and others, most of the time they have become blockbusters. As the title is catchy and the word is easy to recollect, surely it will have that psychological impact too. That’s why more producers are planning for these short, sweet titles, which might end up as blockbusters.
