Tollywood Bags Three 1000 crore Films Now!

Prabhas and Nag Ashwin's magnum opus film 'Kalki 2898 AD' which was released on 27th June has crossed the 1000 crore mark in its third week. This fictional fantasy drama set in a dystopian backdrop has impressed many and showcased the strength of Prabhas once again. The box office success has been phenomenal across the nation. It minted more than 17 million in North America alone and got 250 crores in North India.

With no big releases, the successful run is going to continue. Apart from Prabhas, there are actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone who played the main roles. 'Kalki' turned out to be the third film to cross the 1000 crore mark from Tollywood. Rajamouli's 'Baahubali 2' and his action drama 'RRR' are the only films in this elite club till date.

With this, Prabhas becomes the only South Indian hero to have two 1000 crore films. Coming to India, he stands next to SRK as they both have two films each that collected more than 1000 crores globally. After 'Kalki', Tollywood has three 1000 crore films which is more than any other film industry. Bollywood has two namely 'Pathaan' and 'Jawaan' while the Kannada industry has 'KGF 2'. With 'Pushpa 2', 'Devara', 'Game Changer' and 'Salaar 2' arriving in the coming days, let us see if Tollywood manages to produce more of these 1000 crore collecting films or not.
