Tollywood has been facing tough times recently. Last week, three movies - Skanda, Chandramukhi 2, and Peddha Kapu 1 - all faced failures at the box office. Also, throughout the entire month of September, only Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty and "Jawan" managed to turn a profit. And now, this weekend, several small films were released, but only Mad received good openings at the box office.

On its opening day, Mad collected 1.8 crore rupees in gross earnings. With positive word of mouth, the film is expected to perform even better in the coming days, while other movies are likely to face disappointing outcomes.

The response for other films wasn't favorable. Despite the initial excitement generated by the teaser for Month of Madhu, the film failed to draw audiences to the theaters. In a similar vein, Kiran Abbavaram's Rules Ranjaan received a negative response from viewers. Even a film like "800," based on the life story of Muttiah Muralitharan, one of cricket's legends, struggled to generate interest among moviegoers. Siddharth's Chinna received positive reviews, but audiences didn't show much interest. It remains to be seen if audiences will turn up in the coming days.

Regarding the film Mad, its situational comedy worked brilliantly, with impeccable timing from the lead actors. It's been a while since a full-length entertainer like Mad has come along. It promises to be a blockbuster for those who enjoy lighthearted movies and a decent watch for others.

Mad was written and directed by Kalyan Shankar, featuring Narne Nithin, Ram Nithin, Sangeeth Shobhan, Sri Gouri Priya Reddy, and Ananathika Sanilkumar in the main roles. The film also utilized paid premieres as part of its promotional strategy, in line with the latest trend in the Telugu film industry.
