Highest Grossing Hollywood Films In English: What’s Weekly Highest?

It has become increasingly common for Hollywood films to do exceptionally well in the Indian market, and the same was observed in the recent case of F1, which turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.

But let us have a look at the highest grossing Hollywood films in the domestic Indian market in terms of weekly collections basis. The weekly records show how some films managed to create history with their collections.

The biggest ever opening week for a Hollywood film in India belongs to Avengers: Endgame. It released in 2019 and collected a massive ₹314 crore in its first week, which no other film has managed to beat so far.

The second spot goes to Avatar: The Way of Water (Avatar 2), which earned ₹121 crore in its second week, proving its strong hold at the box office. The same film also dominated the following weeks with ₹67 crore in Week 3, ₹26.5 crore in Week 4, and another ₹8.75 crore in Week 6.

Interestingly, James Cameron’s first Avatar also managed to shine years after its release, collecting ₹13 crore in Week 5, which shows the long-lasting love audiences have for the franchise.

Disney’s The Jungle Book also surprised everyone with its excellent run in India. It collected ₹3.3 crore in its seventh week and ₹2.3 crore in its eighth week, which is a rare achievement for a Hollywood film.

Now, the latest entry is F1: The Movie, which is expected to earn over ₹3 crore in Week 9, continuing Hollywood’s strong success story in India.
