After getting noticed in Animal for her bold screen presence, she’s now setting her sights on something completely different, action, and more interestingly, villain roles. While she made her mark in films like Bulbbul and Qala, it was Animal that pushed her into the mainstream. But instead of repeating what worked, she’s ready to flip the script.
While promoting her upcoming film Dhadak 2, Triptii spoke about wanting to move away from romantic and emotional characters. She said she’s interested in physical roles where emotions come through action rather than dialogue. What stood out most was her openness to playing characters with grey shades, roles that earlier might have been written off as just “villains.”
Triptii explained that these kinds of roles come with real challenges. “They’re layered and intense,” she said, adding that she’s curious to explore characters that aren’t always likeable. It’s a shift from her earlier work, but one that seems to reflect where she’s headed as an actor, less about comfort, more about risk.
As for Dhadak 2, which releases August 1, she said the role brought back memories of her own college days. “I play a student, and shooting classroom scenes felt oddly familiar,” she shared. Working with Siddhant Chaturvedi made the experience easier, as the two got along well on set. While the film will show a softer side of her, it’s clear that Triptii is already thinking about what’s next, and it won’t be predictable.
