The current trend of bashing female actresses who are in no way connected to politics is on the rise in Tamil Nadu as the state goes for an election next month.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 18 March 2026 3:16 PM ISTThe current trend of bashing female actresses who are in no way connected to politics is on the rise in Tamil Nadu as the state goes for an election next month. The names of the likes of Nayanthara, Trisha and Namitha are being dragged into various controversies. However, amongst all, it looks like Trisha Krishnan, who was now linked up with TVK party’s Ilayathalapathy Vijay, is not going to stay silent like Telugu starlets.
Some Telugu starlets, associated with the ruling politicians in Telugu states, have always stayed silent when it comes to reacting or responding to the political bashing by opponents. Even when their relationships are dragged and they are brutally trolled, these actresses played the nameless-victim cards on social media, but never spoke about anything. However, it looks like Trisha wouldn’t stay silent, and already, buzz has it that she might contest on the TVK ticket at a place where the Telugu population is hugely concentrated, like how Jayalalitha did earlier.
Some reports from Tamil Nadu are coming that Trisha is even in talks with BJP leaders like Amit Shah to discuss the possible collaboration between AIADMK, TVK and BJP in the state of Tamil Nadu. Unlike some Telugu heroines who were married and dating a few politically inclined Telugu stars, who have kept mum during election season, it looks like Trisha is going to come into active politics, thus becoming another game-changer in the Tamil state after Jayalalitha.
