Mammootty And Mohanlal Changed Malayalam Cinema

Malayalam cinema has gone through a big change over the years. The industry is now known for strong stories, realistic performances and different types of films. Veteran actress Urvashi has now spoken about how superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal played an important role in changing the image of Malayalam cinema.

Urvashi in an interview said that Malayalam cinema was once largely known for “A-rated” content. She reportedly pointed out that Mammootty and Mohanlal played a major role in changing this narrative. Their contribution helped Malayalam films reach a wider audience and build a different identity.

Both Mammootty and Mohanlal have had long and successful careers in Malayalam cinema. They have acted in films across many genres, including family dramas, action films, thrillers, comedy movies and serious subjects. Their performances and choice of stories helped Malayalam cinema gain recognition outside Kerala as well.

Urvashi herself is one of the most respected actresses in Malayalam cinema. She has worked in many memorable films and continues to take up challenging roles even after several decades in the industry. Her recent work has once again attracted attention.

One of her upcoming films is Aasha, directed by debutant filmmaker Safar Sanal. The film is set to release on September 11. Urvashi plays the lead role in the movie and shares important scenes with actor Joju George.

The trailer shows Urvashi as a strong and short-tempered woman who gets involved in a serious conflict with Joju George’s character, Jeemon, following a road accident. She decides to fight the case, while Jeemon warns her about the possible consequences.

Aishwarya Lekshmi plays Urvashi’s daughter in the film. Vijayaraghavan, Prasanth Alexander, Joy Mathew, Shari and Kottayam Ramesh are also part of the cast. The film has music by Govind Vasantha and cinematography by Madhu Neelakandan.

Urvashi recently received major recognition for her performance in Ullozhukku, for which she won both National and Kerala State Film Awards.
