Travelling With US Green Card: Be Very Cautious!
The United States administration has a British strong stand against international immigration under the Trump leadership.

It has reached a point where even U.S. green card holders are not safe from the immigration control department and here’s a look into this story.
More and more green card holders in the U.S. are being detained or stopped from coming back into the country because of old criminal records, according to immigration lawyers. These cases have increased in 2025 under the Trump administration, which is following stricter immigration rules. Even people with minor or very old convictions are being affected.
One example is Lewelyn Dixon, a 64-year-old woman from the Philippines who has lived in the U.S. for 50 years. She was held in detention for almost three months after returning from a trip overseas because of a crime she committed in 2001. Her lawyer, Benjamin Osorio, said such cases were rare before but are happening more often now.
The government is now targeting not only undocumented immigrants but also legal green card holders who have any kind of criminal record. Many green card holders are afraid to leave the country because they worry they won’t be allowed back in.
Lawyers are advising green card holders with past legal issues to speak with an immigration attorney before traveling. Some are even suggesting that people apply for U.S. citizenship if they can, which would give them better protection and reduce the risk of being detained or denied entry.
