The film opened quite well, but the mixed talk surrounding the movie right from Day 1 has affected the box office revenues later on. Though Harish Shankar made some tall claims post-release of the film, it looks like none of them had a good impact on the collections.
As Ustaad Bhagat Singh happens to be Pawan Kalyan and Harish Shankar's collaboration, a decade after their blockbuster Gabbar Singh movie, there were huge expectations on the film regarding the collections. But the trade circuits are buzzing that Ustad Bhagat Singh might not even breach the collection of Gabbar Singh and might end up quite lower than that. Gabbar Singh, that released in 2012, collected a little over ₹100 crores gross. With Ustaad Bhagat Singh stuck in the ₹80 crores club, many are wondering if Harish Shankar could beat his own record.
Well, even Pawan Kalyan is not cracking his own good track of #OG’s ₹300 crore club collections. Before that, even the likes of Hari Hara Veera Mallu and BRO movies collected more than a hundred crores gross despite average talk around them. But then its the timing of the release that could be blamed for this less collections, as avoiding competition with Ustaad Bhagat Singh would have easily pushed the film into the ₹100 crores club in the first weekend itself.
