Actor Radhika Sarathkumar recently shared an interesting and emotional memory about her daughter Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and husband Sarath Kumar. She revealed that Sarath Kumar was not happy initially when Varalaxmi decided to become an actress.

Radhika spoke about this at the pre-release event of the film Saraswathi, which is Varalaxmi’s first movie as a director. The event was held ahead of the film’s release on March 6. Many film personalities attended the event, including director Nandini Reddy.

While speaking on stage, Radhika said her husband Sarath Kumar was very happy that day. She recalled a moment from the airport when fans praised both of them. Some fans appreciated Radhika’s recent performance, while others spoke highly about Sarath Kumar’s film. One woman even told them that she was a big fan of Varalaxmi. Radhika said that moment made Sarath Kumar feel very proud as a father.

Radhika then spoke openly about the past. She said Sarath Kumar did not want Varalaxmi to enter films at first. When Varalaxmi expressed her interest in acting, Sarath Kumar strongly opposed it. He even told producers not to consider his daughter for film roles. Varalaxmi later shared this with her mother and Radhika.

Unsure about what to do, Radhika took Varalaxmi to meet Sarath Kumar on a film set. At that time, he was busy shooting a song. Seeing them, he quietly walked away to his caravan. Later, he slowly agreed to let Varalaxmi act in films.

Radhika said that after watching Varalaxmi’s first film Poda Podi, she strongly believed her daughter would become a great actress. She advised Varalaxmi to focus more on Telugu cinema which later helped shape her successful career.
