Is Venkatesh Against High-End Marriages?

Veteran actor Venkatesh is known for his natural way of speaking. Now one of his recent comments about marriages has caught the attention of social media users. His words have started a discussion about big weddings, huge guest lists and the amount of money spent on marriage functions.

The discussion happened during a conversation involving director Trivikram Srinivas and Venkatesh. Trivikram was talking about the things people usually spend money on in their lives. He explained that many things are done because they are necessary. Buying a house, purchasing a vehicle and spending money on education are some examples.

Trivikram then brought marriage into the discussion. Trivikram said, if a family invites around 100 people to a wedding, many more people may eventually attend. He humorously compared the situation to a kind of war because of the huge crowd that can gather at marriage functions.

Responding to this, Venkatesh said that some families may intentionally create a grand atmosphere for the wedding. Instead of inviting 100 people, they may invite 1,000 people to just make the event much bigger and for show off.

Venkatesh's comments are now going viral on social media. Many viewers found his words relatable because big Indian weddings often involve large guest lists, elaborate decorations, expensive food and several functions.

Venkatesh did not appear to give a strict rule about how a marriage should be conducted. But he marked the way families sometimes turn a simple ceremony into a very large celebration.
