Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen is arriving on March 8th with a prestigious project named ‘Gaami’. V Celluloid presents this movie while Karthik Sabareesh is producing under Karthik Kult Creations. Vidyadhar Kagita is the director. The screenplay is written by Vidyadhar Kagita and Pratyush Vatyam. Chandini Chowdary is the female lead and it is a crowd-funded film. The promotional content has impressed the viewers big time and it created a huge buzz. Prior to the movie’s release, director Vidyadhar Kagita spoke to the press and this is what he had to say.

How did project ‘Gaami’ begin? How did Vishwak get onboard?

A true incident has excited me a lot. I wrote down that idea. Also, I like Himalayan mountains, the snow and the journey very much. I have a liking towards Vithalacharya’s adventure stories. All these came together and developed into a story. We started this project with the idea of making it within the limited budget we have. We pitched a video for crowd funding. We began the movie through that money and the producer brought more money from outside. After watching a glimpse, UV Creations banner came forward to take up this project. While searching for actors, we finalised on Vishwak. None of his movies were released at that time. We conducted a regular audition and he picked up this project with a very open mind. We need to appreciate his guts and vision.

‘Gaami’ took five years to get completed. What did you learn during this period?

We wanted something and we went to any kind of length to achieve it. ‘Avatar’ was in the making for ten years but you cannot say that it was delayed. Some projects need more time. We felt that we are making something new and it is why we did not think of the time. In order to give a new experience to the audience, we tried something different in terms of music, visuals and technical output.

There were a lot of characters in the trailer. Is it a hyperlinked movie?

It is not right to speak about it as of now. You will get to know more about it after watching the movie. As shown in the trailer, all the characters will be very interesting. Samad, Harika, Chandini and others were all auditioned before giving the roles.

What are the elements required to make a travelling movie like ‘Gaami’?

‘Gaami’ is going to be completely exciting. It is going to create a curiosity of what’s going to happen next. Screenplay will be very gripping and drama worked out wonderfully as well. It will make the audience get completely involved.

Tell us about the movie’s title ‘Gaami’.

‘Gaami’ means seeker. The man who reaches his destiny. The lead character has a destination to reach in this movie and how he reaches there is explained quite interestingly.

Is there any inspiration for Shankar character?

The movie is based on a few true incidents. The character is completely fictional.

What is the most challenging part of ‘Gaami’?

It is a huge challenge to bring the written emotions quite convincingly on to the screen. Technically, editing is a huge challenge. Making a complicated movie engaging to the viewers needs a lot of hard work.

What kind of support did you get after ‘UV Creations’ came onboard?

We got financial freedom. The resources have increased and they gave us ample time. They believed that we are making something fresh. They gave us a chance to do post-production work on a bigger scale.

You came through short films. What is the difference you found between that and cinema?

I look at both things in the same way. I give my 100% percent to both.

Tell us about Shankar Mahadevan’s song.

We are honored to have a Shankar Mahadevan song in our movie.

Hero and heroine said that they took a lot of risks for this movie. Can you elaborate?

I was with them throughout. Whatever risk they did was earlier done by me or my co-directors. We all took a risky road for this project.

All the Best

Thank You
