Vijay Deverakonda Says Love Changed His Fire

At a recent event for his film Kingdom, Vijay Deverakonda was asked why he sounds calmer now compared to his earlier interviews. The journalist casually remarked that Vijay once came off as aggressive, but now speaks in a much more composed way. Vijay replied, “I don’t change for anyone. I just say what I feel.”

Vijay explained that in the beginning, his aggression was more of a defense. He felt the need to protect himself in a tough industry where people judge easily. He didn’t want to be looked down on or pushed aside, so he put up a strong front. That energy came from wanting to claim his space and prove he belonged.

But now, he said, that fear is gone. He feels safe, and that’s because of the love he gets from fans. He compared it to movies where the angry hero softens after falling in love. In his case, it’s the audience’s love that changed him. Vijay also said our behavior often comes from our past—what we see, what we live. And as those things change, so do we.
