Why Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Is Facing Trouble With CBFC

Actor Vijay had high expectations for his upcoming movie Jana Nayagan, which was planned as a grand theatrical release. The film was scheduled to hit cinemas on January 9 and was supposed to release in a record number of theatres across Tamil Nadu and other regions. Because this is Vijay’s last film before his political entry, the buzz around the movie was extremely high.

However, problems began when the Central Board of Film Certification reviewed the film. After watching it, the officials raised serious objections. According to reports, some dialogues in the movie were critical of the current Tamil Nadu government. In addition to that, a few scenes were said to show the Central government in a negative way. Due to these issues, the CBFC asked the makers to remove or change certain dialogues and episodes.

The film’s team was informed about these objections, but they were not willing to make major cuts. The controversial portions were written keeping Vijay’s future political plans in mind and the makers felt that removing them would weaken the core message of the film. Since both sides failed to reach an agreement, the situation became more complicated and the film’s release was stopped.

The matter later reached the Supreme Court of India, but the court made it clear that it would not interfere in this issue. The court advised the makers to resolve the problem legally at the state level. Now all eyes are on the Madras High Court where the case is expected to move forward.

With Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching, the delay has become a major concern. If the issue is not settled soon, it may be very difficult for Jana Nayagan to release before the elections. This entire controversy has turned into a big headache for Vijay and his team.

The producers are also under heavy pressure. A large amount of money has already been invested in the film, and the lack of clarity about the release date has increased their stress. Until a final decision is taken, the future of Jana Nayagan remains uncertain.
