Huge Discussion On Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Title Card
Like how it happened in the case of Pawan Kalyan earlier, after he took oath as Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the same is now happening with Vijay, who was sworn in as Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister last week.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 15 May 2026 1:03 PM ISTLike how it happened in the case of Pawan Kalyan earlier, after he took oath as Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the same is now happening with Vijay, who was sworn in as Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister last week. Will his newly crowned position take centre stage in the title cards of his upcoming release, the much-delayed Jana Nayagan, be the point of discussion now? Here’s what we know so far about this.
Apparently, Vijay’s Jana Nayagan movie was delayed from January 2026, with the Central Board of Film Certification arguing that the film has lots of political colour, and now that the actor was in the election fray, allowing the film to release might influence the voters. Whether Jana Nayagan was released or not, Vijay has scored it big, and now his party TVK has even formed the government. There’s no question about stopping the film from being released now. They say that the makers of Jana Nayagan decided to change Vijay’s title card from “Ilayathalapathy Vijay” to that of “Chief Minister Thiru Vijay” in the opening titles of the film. However, that seems to be untrue.
As per reports coming from Kollywood’s close circles, Vijay’s title prefix will be pretty much “Ilayathalapathy” only, and there are no changes made to Jana Nayagan’s final copy as of now. After the Censor Board gives its final verdict on the film’s certification, in case if it advises cuts, the film will be crafted accordingly and released. But no creative changes will be made.
