Tamil superstar Vijay entered politics and started the TVK party, which contested all seats in the 2026 assembly elections of the Tamil Nadu state. The state went to elections today, and many celebrities already posted their ‘ink’ marked pictures on Instagram. Guess what, there’s not a single strong wish from the film industry for Vijay, forget about visible backing and public endorsements. For a star of his scale, that’s unusual.

Back then, when Pawan Kalyan stepped into politics and announced Janasena Party, the support was loud, immediate, and visible from within the industry itself. Before the election and during, names like Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Sai Dharam Tej, and Varun Tej openly backed him. Though they are family, such open backing would surely affect their films, but then the heroes didn’t care. They put out tweets, made public appearances, and infused campaign energy. It felt like a united front, at least from his circle. Also, some Jabardasth comedians, a few faded-out heroes and others also praised the actor for joining politics and standing by the people.

Coming to Vijay, despite having a massive fan following in Tamil Nadu, he hasn’t seen that kind of industry reaction. Even on a key day like voting, there’s no visible support from fellow actors. Not even a formal “all the best” message came from any quarters. In Telugu cinema, the “family system” plays a big role when it comes to giving political support to heroes who venture into politics. But here, Vijay missed out on that aspect.
