In his response, Vijay said his family was deeply hurt by these accusations and confirmed that his team has filed a complaint with cybercrime authorities.

Speaking about the incident, Vijay Sethupathi said he was not affected by the false claims, but it hurt his loved ones. “People who know me laughed at those allegations. I know who I am. These things don’t scare me. But my family and friends were very upset,” he said. He also mentioned that he told them not to take it seriously, calling it a cheap stunt for attention. “She just wants a few minutes of fame,” Vijay added, while making it clear that legal action has already been taken.

The controversy started when a woman named Ramya posted on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that casting couch incidents were common in the Tamil film industry. She said that her friend faced mental stress due to such an incident. In her post, she also linked Vijay Sethupathi’s name to the issue. However, Ramya deleted her post within a few hours, leading to even more confusion and backlash from Vijay’s fans.

Ramya later shared another post, saying she was angry when she wrote it and didn’t expect it to go viral. She said she deleted it to protect her friend’s privacy. But the damage was already done. Vijay, who usually avoids controversies, decided to respond this time. His reply is now trending, with many fans backing him and slamming false allegations.
