Some folks chase fame, some chase peace. Vijay Sethupathi seems to be chasing feelings these days. The ever-charming Makkal Selvan, who already owns hearts across Tamil and Telugu films, showed up at the Phoenix pre-release event and made the crowd light up the moment he walked in. But somewhere between the jokes and film talk, he dropped a small bomb, one that made people stop and smile.

He said he said I wanted to talk in Telugu, but I am not yet that fluent, but don't worry, I will become fluent soon, and I even want to write Telugu poems. Then he laughed, saying his Telugu isn’t strong enough yet, but he’s learning. “Once I’m a bit better, I’ll start writing and talking,” he said, sounding half shy, half excited. The way he spoke, simple, honest, made the whole thing oddly sweet. You could see the audience totally vibing with him. It’s not every day an actor admits something so random yet so sincere.

He also had some fun moments on stage. He called Varalaxmi Sarathkumar a walking power station and joked that she should launch her own energy drink. The crowd cracked up. He even slipped in a line about his next film with Puri Jagannadh, saying he’s excited but trying not to overthink it. “If people feel something real, that’s all that matters,” he said casually, but it hit home.

Honestly, that’s what makes Vijay Sethupathi special. He’s not just another actor running behind the next hit. He’s still exploring, still learning, still curious about things most wouldn’t even think of, like writing Telugu poems.
