They did many hit films together like 'Pasi Vaadi Pranam', 'Gang Leader', 'Yamudiki Mogudu' and others. 'Mechanic Alludu' which came in 1994 was the last film in their combination and it was a big failure. Vijayashanti preferred female-centric films and Megastar went ahead with his own work.
Later, Vijayashanti joined politics and Chiranjeevi followed her too. But they joined opposite parties and had some differences in opinion as well. They maintained distance ever since. Though they met at the pre-release event of 'Sarileru Neekevvaru', it was evident that there were still some differences between them. The latest we hear is that Vijayashanti was offered a role in Chiru's upcoming film 'Vishwambhara'. Insiders say that she politely turned down the offer.
There is a reason for it as well. She was the heroine who acted with Chiranjeevi for more than a decade. Now, Trisha is the female lead in the movie while the legendary actress will be limited to playing a key character in the movie. Also, when something special happens, you need to let it be and shouldn't spoil it. We have seen a lot of heroines playing key characters in big movies and it will affect their careers.
Also, Vijayashanti made it clear that she is not interested in acting anymore and did 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' because he liked the story too much. She said that she is in no mood to change her opinion. Vijayashanti is a member of the Congress Party which is the ruling party in Telangana. She is planning her political career and she doesn't want to move away from it by taking movie roles.
