South Indian cinema is currently discussing and debating the relationship rumours involving Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay and senior actress Trisha.

Bollywood filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has reacted to the ongoing rumours linking Tamil stars Vijay and Trisha Krishnan, and his comments have triggered a fresh debate online.

In an Instagram post, Bhatt said he does not know whether the rumours about the two actors are true, but he expressed admiration for people who choose honesty in relationships rather than hiding their emotions. He wrote that there is “dignity in not pretending something does not exist” and also “dignity in not hiding love as though it were sinful.”

The filmmaker added that society often judges people harshly for their personal lives, but individuals should have the freedom to follow their hearts. According to him, if someone finds happiness and honesty in a relationship, they should not feel forced to hide it because of social pressure.

The rumours about Vijay and Trisha gained momentum after the two actors attended a wedding reception together in Chennai, which came shortly after reports that Vijay’s wife had filed for divorce. Their public appearance together sparked speculation about a possible relationship, although neither Vijay nor Trisha has officially commented on the claims.

Bhatt also reflected on his own views about relationships, saying he would rather walk away from a loveless relationship while keeping his honour and dignity.
