They are even saying that Lord Balaji is their own God but doesn’t belong to Telugu people. This is because the poster of “God of War”, a film that’s coming in the combination of Jr NTR and Trivikram, serves as the story of a God born in the North and ruling the South. Well, Tamil folks got hurt, but they are now doing politics with it.
Many Tamil folks on X are now posting about how they own every single God in the country and how their kings have built temples for the rest of South India. However, Telugu folks are quick to rebuke such claims as they are asking how come temples like Tirumala, that are mostly expanded by Sri Krishnadevaraya, who is a Tulu-speaking Telugu-Kannada king, have become Tamilian. At the same time, some educated Tamil folks are also questioning these ‘God of War’ critics why they didn’t fight for the Thiruparankundram issue.
That issue deals with the lighting of a Deepam on a hill at Thiruparankundram temple, on the outskirts of Madurai, and the temple belongs to Subramanya Swamy only. Even though the Tamil Nadu HC ordered the lighting of the lamp, the previous Dravidian Govt appealed to the Supreme Court, saying that lighting the lamp would cause communal tensions. When you can’t fight for the locals of Thiruparankundram to light a lamp for Lord Subramanya, what’s the point in talking about the ‘God of War’ poster now?
All said and done, God of War became a huge topic even before it rolled.
