Buzz: Enthusiastic Hero Forgets Reality Check

Whenever some director carves out a film, surely it’s going to be their ‘baby ’, and they like everything about it. However, when it comes to film critics and audiences, they would like the film only if the narrative is truly gripping and worth their time. Looks like some actors and directors are losing track of this reality check in recent times.

Take the case of Vishal, for example. After a director exited from his film, he himself took the megaphone into his hands to carve out Makutam, which released on August 14th and sank without a trace. Vishal himself played almost three roles in the film, but none of them clicked; forget about his direction. And a month later, the film turned up on OTT platform and naturally it got some attention as people want to see how it actually fared. And as the film climbed up the charts, Vishal is busy sharing them, and expressing his thankfulness.

Reality is that the film is a badly made movie, and ranking charts on OTT are not a testimony of the film’s success. Films that don’t work in theatres usually get such attention on digital platforms. Many are wondering why Vishal is completely away from reality checks. Probably he should look at other heroes who have turned directors in recent times like Amir Khan, and how they carried themselves after their direction failed miserably.

Well, in the first place, Vishal needs a strong comeback as an actor and hero first rather than a director.
