While Megastar Chiranjeevi is aiming big with Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu at the Sankranthi 2026 Telugu box office, the talk is getting spread about his delayed film, which was supposed to hit cinemas last Sankranthi itself. This is about his postponed socio-fantasy movie Vishwambhara, which was expected to be nothing short of a spectacle.

The Sankranthi 2026 releases didn’t have any big releases except Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu. Though Prabhas’ Raja Saab is also hitting cinemas, it happens to be a horror fantasy, and that could not be compared with the usual Sankranthi big-ticket movies. Just in case Vishwambhara is in the race along with the other movies that are in the race now, the result would have been earth-shattering.

The primary reason for the postponement is extensive visual effects and post-production setbacks. While the film, directed by Vassishta of Bimbisar fame, was set for Sankranthi 2025 release, the VFX requirements gave way for Ram Charan’s Game Changer earlier. Now that the Visual Effects of Vishwambhara are getting ready at a brisk pace, the film might look at a Summer release optimistically.

In an industry where festive windows could make or break films, Vishwambara’s missed golden opportunity has made it to discussions in film and trade circles.
