Viswanath & Sons Raked Up Big Debate Now

Some films are turning out to be super successful in theatres and making 100s of crores. However, when the same film hits the OTT platform, surely they are getting a lot of criticism regarding the content and in no time they are losing the sheen. Recently, the film Viswanath & Sons started to stream on Netflix, and that resulted in a lot of discussion around the movie.

On the internet now, after the release of the Suriya starrer carved by Telugu director Venky Atluri on OTT, people are criticising it for promoting double marriage, or say extra-marital affairs, 20-year-wide gap love stories and more. Also, many are comparing it with the Malayalam film Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, which dealt with the same topic, without any bone marrow disease, surrogacy for money, or other themes shown in Viswanath & Sons. Some women are expressing their disappointment at the movie and wondering how it collected huge in theatres.

It looks like the audience who are watching in theatres and who are watching on digital platforms are two different sections, if these comments are anything to go by. Because when a film collects huge at the box office, it could be implied that the content is liked by many, but then the content inside Viswanath & Sons is debatable anyway, as it deals with both patriarchy and feminist thoughts, neither justified.
