Wamiqa Gabbi: A Star After 10 Years?

When the likes of Sreeleela and Bhagyashri Bhorse have become stars with their first film itself, and went on to grab 2-3 crores remuneration by their third film. However, not every heroine will get a similar cakewalk despite having amazing acting talents. Some will have so much potential, but luck only favours them, only after a decade. Here’s one such example.

Punjabi beauty Wamiqa Gabbi made her acting debut at the age of 13 with Imtiyaz Ali’s Jab We Met, and later became a busy actress. Coming to the Telugu film industry, Wamiqa acted in the Telugu movie “Bhale Manchi Roju” way back in 2015 itself, but hasn’t had many opportunities. Though she went to Tamil and Hindi and proved her mettle, somehow she got to become a sought-after actress only after crossing 30 years of age.

Coming to Tollywood, people are calling her a star in the making after #DC release. Well, she has acted in more than three dozen movies already, and has terrific experience, but then she became a star only after 10 years of her Telugu-Tamil debut, and that’s the irony. But we should appreciate Wamiqa for waiting for such a long time, patiently, and picking interesting movies, and now getting called as a star.

In fact, she was supposed to be seen for a couple of years on the Telugu screen through Goodachari 2, but the film got delayed by almost 3 years now. It features Wamiqa as an agent alongside Adivi Sesh.
